Holistic Psychotherapy
in the Bay Area
Hi, I’m Elizabeth
I’m a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at Jennifer Machado Psychotherapy. I use my fellowship training at Kaiser Permanente, my background in evidence-based therapies, and my experience in the startup space to help individuals navigate the opportunities and challenges that come with being a professional in the Bay Area. Focus areas include perfectionism, feeling “stuck,” navigating dating and relationships, work/life balance, burnout, anxiety, and depression.
I also have extensive training in perinatal mental health, and am passionate about supporting individuals on their journeys into parenthood. You can learn more about these services here.

How we’ll work together
My primary goal as your therapist is to create a safe and supportive space where we can explore where you have been, where you are now, and where you would like to go. Together, we will work to help you cultivate deeper self-awareness, find self-compassion for the things you feel shame around, and learn how to live in a way that aligns with your needs and values.
I also have training and experience conducting Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and often find it helpful to incorporate their evidence-based skill-building tools into my work with clients. What I love about these modalities is that they give clients the skills to understand, address, and ultimately shift unhelpful thought patterns, behavioral reactions, and emotional responses on their own. Clients have said learning these skills has been empowering and bolstered their sense of self-efficacy.
My approach is warm, authentic, supportive, and nonjudgmental. When working with clients, I like to blend humor, psychoeducation, skill-building, clinical insight, and a whole lot of validation.
